Apple will release three new iPhones in 2019 to succeed with the current iPhone XS Max, XS and XR, and the highest model will actually have three cameras, while the other two will contain dual cameras, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
The journal does not reveal much else, but we have already seen leaky show an early concept image of how an iPhone with the triple camera could look. While this report does not provide specific details on what the third camera can do, expectations and rumors indicate that it is an ultra-long angle camera with field of view similar to what you get with GoPro. Some phone manufacturers already offer an ultra-slim camera on their phones: Huawei Mate 20 Pro has one, the LG V40 as well. However, the picture quality is not as good at the current ultra-slim phone cameras, and expectations are that Apple may be able to deliver a more refined experience with better image quality.
Apple is also considering releasing the LCD screen on XR in favor of an OLED screen. OLED screens usually have higher contrasts and show livelier and more saturated colors. Currently, the iPhone XS and XS Max already have OLED displays, but the XR model has an LCD screen.
Based on the latest report, here is a brief summary of the three new 2019 iPhones (we refer to them as the iPhone XI series):
It is important to clarify that Apple at this time on the production timeline is not likely to change major features of the 2019 models, but The phones are still not finished in any way, so other changes are possible.
So … what do you think of this early picture of 2019 iPhones? Are you disappointed that only the most expensive iPhone (probably XI Max) will get a triple camera, while the others will probably stick to a dual camera setup?
