LONDON – Like many a couple before them, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan move to the suburbs before the first child’s expectations.
Officials said Saturday that Harry and Meghan, Duke of Sussex, move from Kensington Palace in central London to Frogmore Cottage, a house due to Windsor Castle, early next year.
The couple, who married a chapel on the Windsor Castle grounds in May, awaits their first child in the spring. Windsor is approximately 20 miles (32 miles) west of central London.
The castle stated that “Windsor is a very special place for its royal majesty and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the farm.” Windsor Castle is also one of Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite themes. It is surrounded by horseland where she used to ride often on her younger days, and she is famous for preferring the castle and its surroundings to Buckingham Palace, her more formal official residence in central London.
Harry and Meghan have lived at Nottingham Cottage because of the Kensington Palace since they announced their commitment last year. They will hold their office at Kensington Palace, which is also home to Prince William and his wife Kate.
Moved means that William and Harry will no longer live close together when Harry starts his own family.
