Microsoft has fiddling around the edges of Windows 10 File Explorer for some time now, adding a dark mode and promising further changes with the release of Windows 1

0 Build 18277.

Now in the last 19h1 Windows 10 Build 18290 WindowsLatest has tagged A new change of how dates appear in File Explorer.

Instead of using the full numeric date, e.g. ” 29/11/2018 10 AM ” File Explorer now uses a more friendly ” November 29 ” format.

Microsoft continues to make changes to File Explorer, but works separately for a UWP file manager that also gets improvements in the meanwhile, including drag and drop support, better copy and paste and more.

Enable the UWP File Explorer:

  • Right-click the desktop, Go to New and select Shortcut .
  • In the “Create Shortcut” wizard, enter the following section in the popup box:
    • Explorer shell: AppsFolder c5e2524a-ea46-
  • Click Next and enter the shortcut file UWP- File Browser.
  • Click on exit.

To get the updated Win32 File Explorer, of course, you must be a Windows 10 Insider, with all the problems that may be activated by going to Settings > Update and Security ] and select Windows Insider Program .
