Goldberg’s extended absence from “The View” constituted many fanatics: Was she a contestant on “The Masked Singer”? Did she go completely away from the show? Last month, Behar troubled rumors, including the theory she premade to host the Oscar, and confirmed that Goldberg was struggling with pneumonia.

Behar stated that Goldberg was on “maternity leave” before becoming serious.

“She’s actually recovered from pneumonia. That’s what she had.” It’s a serious matter, Behar said on February 20. “She’s not really good enough to host this show right now, much less the Oscar. I saw her last night and she’s still very funny and we have great laughter. She’s going there.”
