PORTLAND, Ore. – The Healing Hunter Foundation transformed the oncology unit at Oregon Health and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Whoville on Saturday.
The amazing holiday display is for the kids to enjoy.
The foundation covered the walls with grinch decorations, pointed trees and giant candy rats.
In addition to popping up the halls for the holiday, the foundation also fills Seuss Sacks, which will be snapped into the Christmas Eve.
The project takes several hours to shop and organize and do a very busy week before Christmas.
Portland Fire and Rescue helped the volunteers bring the hall to life on the day of decoration and Bellagio’s Goose Hollow fed all involved. Healing Hunter Foundation was started by Lenore and Todd Thawley after losing her son, Hunter, to AML Leukemia 2010. They spent two Christ in the hospital who fought for his life while receiving treatment.
