A United Airlines employee accused of abusing a passenger verbally has been charged in Texas with disorderly behavior
The charge was filed in the Municipal Court of Houston after Carmella Davano received a quote to use addictive languages simultaneously in a public place. She told Cacilie Hughes, a black woman and actress “a monkey” and “a shining ape.”
Hughes said her meeting with Devano occurred at the United terminal at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
She said she was trying to get another employee to call the police, but they refused, so she took things in her own hands. On arrival, police told other witnesses who backed up Hughes’ story.
United released a statement saying: “At United, we take pride in the highest standards of professionalism and have no tolerance for any kind of discrimination. We have withheld the employee from service since the night before an internal investigation. investigation we will take all appropriate corrective actions up to termination. “
