Unidentified young girl was found dead in duffel bag near the rider tracks; officials generally ask for help

Authorities are asking for public help as they investigate the death of a young girl whose body was found in a duffel bag near a Los Angeles rider's track, officials said.The unidentified girl is believed to be between 8 and 13, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.Her body was partly inside a black duffle bag when she was discovered in Hacienda Heights Tuesday morning by county workers, Scott Hoglund says to reporters Wednesday.There were no obvious signs of trauma, Hoglund said, adding that it was ruled as a suspected death.The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, Hoglund said.The authorities have not determined whether she was dead before he was put in the bag, Hoglund said.A motive is unknown, Hoglund said.Authorities described the girl as African American and thin , standing at 4 feet 5 inches long and weighing 55 pounds.
