High Flight Perspective Yair Rodriguez has had a rather turbulent journey to reach Saturday night in Denver, Colorado, against Chan Sung Jung, more famous as “The Korean Zombie.” Rodriguez (11-2) enters his last match 18 months ago (a second round of TKO loss against Frankie Edgar as he replaces because of an injury to Edgar) and a host of controversies to accompany.

In summary: Rodriguez was “cut off” by the UFC after refusing to fight the UFC 227 in August after rumors of “El Pantera” who took on Zabit Magomedsharipov at the Los Angeles event. Then, after an agreement for Rodriguez and Magomedshairpov to fight the card, Rodriguez suffered an injury and could not compete.

Now, Rodriguez hopes to come back to his roots as he takes on Jung in a main place.

“There are ups and downs in this career,” Rodriguez said during the media day via MMAJunkie. “It’s just a part of the game. My fight team will always be the same. It’s who I am. If you go back watching my first fight, you’ll see the same Yair Rodriguez. It’s just who I am and how I like to fight, how I feel like fighting.

“You can not think about it out there. If you start thinking about something, you will not do anything. You just have to be able to react and be fluent and just fight &#821

1; just fight. ”

At the same time, the co-main event includes a couple of guys who only like to fight in Donald” Cowboy “Cerrone and” Platinum “Mike Perry. Both guys are looking to move up the win-win’s ranking with a win, but Perry can approaching a difficult title game than Cerrone.

Korean Zombie vs Rodriguez: ] I’m a regular believer in talent Rodriguez. I think fortf ears that he has the opportunity to turn the feather on his head if he can combine some winnings and grow his game for a showdown with either Brian Ortega or Max Holloway along the line. While Korean zombie is still a good fighter in its own right and comes out of a performance of the night award in his victory over Dennis Bermudez in February 2017, facing someone at the speed and the oorthodox character of Rodriguez presents too many challenges in this battle. Rodriguez with unanimous decision.

Cerrone vs. Perry: As much as Cerrone gets for his “let’s just hit” attitude, the results tell each other another story. “Cowboy” is simply not an old cowboy and loses four of his last five games with the lone win come against one of his close friends in Yancy Medeiros. Perry, however, seemed to find something in his last fight against Paul Felder after losing consecutive decisions to Max Griffin and Santiago Ponzinibbio. Look for Perry to force the action and find a home for the right hook on Cerron’s chin. Perry through second round TKO.
