Twitter’s Jack Dorsey has heard your wishes to add an editing button, but the CEO has some concerns about “user cases” for such a feature before the social media platform does anything.
As first reported by The Next Web, Dorsey touched the subject while speaking at an event in India this week. Dorsey said Twitter has been “considering” the feature for a while but the company wants to make sure they implement it properly.
“We can not just hurry it out,” Dorsey said at the event. “You must be aware of what is the case for the edit button.”
Many who call Twitter to add an editing button want an easy way to fix typo and spelling mistakes. However, Dorsey expressed concern about users abusing such a feature by changing the meaning of old tweets, which could have widespread consequences for anyone who retweeted or favored the post.
“In the end, we must ensure that we solve a real problem and solve a user case that people see as friction within the service, and make it easy for people to do,” Dorsey said.

This is the first time Dorsey has touched the topic since 201
6 when the CEO said to his Twitter- account that the company “thought a lot about it”, Recode reported. But nothing ever came.
Social media has instead struggled for the change with rallying cry “tweets, but editable” that users often add to fonts they have already sent. Kim Kardashian tried her own hand at the lobby for this reason in June, when she wrote on Twitter, she had confronted Dorsey at a birthday party for her husband, Kanye West.
