It’s very known that there are many benefits to being fit, but one large new study found that skipping out on the gym is practically the worst thing you can do for your health. In this recent study, it has been discovered that not exercising could be worse than smoking!
According to the study conducted at the Cleveland Clinic, “Extremely high aerobic fitness was associated with the greatest survival and was associated with benefit in older patients and those with hypertension.” And even more surprisingly, Dr. Wael Jaber, who is a co-author of the study, has stated that “being unfit on a treadmill or in an exercise stress test has a worse prognosis, as far as death, than being hypertensive, being diabetic or being a current smoker, and we’ve never seen something as pronounced as this and as objective as this.”
So get off your butts and hit the gym!
