The average price of petrol has fallen below 2 dollars per gallon in two states and several more states can soon join as an overrated oil market sends prices down before the busy vacation trip.
Missouri and Oklahoma had average gas prices below $ 2 per gallon from Tuesday, according to Patrick DeHaan, chief petroleum analyst at GasBuddy. Additional seven states – South Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Kansas – were within three cents of the threshold.
The US national average was $ 2.37 per gallon per Tuesday according to AAA. Prices of the pump reached its lowest level in two years and is expected to continue to decline at the end of the year.
“AAA expects 1
02 million Americans to drive to their holiday destination this year, an increase of four percent the year before,” said AAA spokesman Jeanette Casselano in a statement. “Without doubt cheaper gas prices fuel their decision to break the road. ”
Crude oil prices have fallen in recent months due to concerns about the transfer of the market. OPEC agreed to reduce oil production from 2019, but AAA said the oil price remained low until the agreement was completed.
WTI Raw prices fell below $ 47 a barrel on Tuesday and reached its lowest level for more than a year.
