The Time Warner Center in Manhattan, which holds CNN, was evacuated after someone called in a bomb shot late on Thursday, New York reported the ABC station WABC.
After a sweep of the building, the police found no explosives and employees had to get back inside the building just after 11:00 AM CNN security sought and found nothing.
Several CNN employees tweeted about the event. Host Don Lemon said he was evacuated while his show was in the air.
Chris Cuomo also tweeted about the event, but the employees were expected to be allowed back to the “ASK AS POSSIBLE.”
CNN was evacuated just two months ago after a pipe bomb was sent to the building and intercepted in the mail room. That package was directed to former CIA director John Brennan, who was a contributor to the network for some time. Cesar Sayoc, a resident of Florida, was arrested for sending that bomb, as well as a number of others, to prominent Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, Cory Booker and Maxine Waters. Sayoc was charged last month.
The building is located in the Columbus Circle in the southwest corner of Central Park. It also includes housing, a Whole Foods store and a number of high-end stores like Michael Kors, Swarovski, Cole Haan and Coach.
President Donald Trump, who has made a political career to attack CNN, had actually just tweeted about “false news” the same hour of the bomb threat. He has repeatedly referred to CNN by the moniker.
