We enter fully into the middle of the year, and the first clues about the phones that will arrive in the second half of 2018 begin to emerge. Today it’s the turn of Samsung Galaxy Note9, the next star terminal of the South Korean firm , that one more year promises to be at the top of the catalog. And although the first rumors suggested that we could see a Note9 something sooner than usual , everything indicates that, one more year, we will have to wait until August to get to know the big guy from the Galaxy family.
As stated in the, there would be delayed the presentation of its next flagship up to two weeks of what was planned, due to a change of design suggested by the company’s own president.
Apparently, Lee Jae-Yong, vice president of the company, visited a store in Shenzhen at the beginning of last May, with the aim of testing some of the latest models of brands such as Oppo, VIVO and Xiaomi. According The Bell , the vice president liked what he could see in the terminals , and this led Jae-Yong to suggest a change in the design of the Samsung Galaxy Note9, which it will result in a delay of up to two weeks in the presentation.
The proposed change consists of a reduction in the thickness of the front glass by up to 0.5 millimeters , a remarkable change if we consider that, at first, the crystal was going to be 1.5 millimeters thicker than the current Galaxy Note8. And although it is unknown if the new model will have a fingerprint reader under the screen –, a thinner glass could be positive for better identification of fingerprints.
In summary, this change would have delayed the presentation of the telephone from the end of July, until the beginning of August, just a few weeks before the IFA 2018 in Berlin opens its doors.
