OnePlus relocates the launch of OnePlus 6T in one day to avoid colliding with Apple’s iPad Pro and Mac event on October 30, just announced yesterday. The change was revealed in a post by CEO Pete Lau on the OnePlus community forum, which explained the difficult decision. Both events were scheduled to take place in New York the same day, but OnePlus announced that it will now hold its event on 29 October at the same site and 11 AM ET time.
The sold-out launch event, which has over 1,000 confirmed participants so far, is a ticket event for OnePlus fans as well as press. In previous events, OnePlus has credited the cost of the ticket again when the participants bought a phone. OnePlus reaches out to participants to let them know about the reorganization, and it offers to cover travel expenses for participants if they need to change their flights. The company also offers full refund to ticket holders who will not be able to participate.
The face of the new phone is high, because OnePlus 6T is rumored to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a small chin. Hopefully OnePlus will get enough attention to compensate for reorganizing an event before Apple removes the headlight the following day.
