The NFL Trade Deadline “Can not Get There Soon Soon” for Jon Gruden, Raiders

OAKLAND – Bruce Irvin is used to playing the most defensive snap of each raider. Veteran Rusher played nearly 1000 in 2016 and was close to 900 last season as a staple in the base defense and subpackage.

His role has fallen below co-ordinator Paul Guenther, although he was only the roster’s only established side rusher and the team leader with three bags.

He played only 24 defensive snaps in a 42-28 loss to Indianapolis on Sunday and did not have a statistic or quarterback press for his name.

It is unusual for him and a sign that he does not fit in as well as expected with this system. It must also be disappointing, considering he was expected to lead defensive charge and a young line after Khalil Mack was trafficked.

It has not worked, and Raiders have NFL’s worst pass speed by far. According to the Pro Football Focus analytics site, Raiders is ranked 56 overall. Detroit Lions ranks 31

st and has 100.

Offensive, Raiders choose that Brandon LaFell takes Amari Cooper’s place in the starting line. The veteran played 46 out of 50 offensive snaps, with three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.

Martavis Bryant’s role did not increase a bit. He only played seven offensive snaps, which left Raiders a loser in the draft retail store where Bryant was acquired from Pittsburgh for a third round.

Doug Martin entered the feature back role with Marshawn Lynch on injured reserve, but Jalen Richard retains when he played his prominent role as third down.
