WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (AP) – An unmanned cargo ship is scheduled to blow this week from Virginia’s coast to the International Space Station.
Daily Press reports that the launch is scheduled for just 5 o’clock on Thursday at the space gate on Wallops Island along the east coast. The unmanned Cygnus cargo ship will carry 7,500 pounds of groceries, hardware and research.
One of the scientific experiments on board will investigate how the universe was formed by stardust. Another will investigate the pathology of Parkinson’s disease. Another is about sustainable manufacturing and repair of plastic materials for long space assignments.
