INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – A man on the run for an independence death for 2017 has been debuted during a murder, abuse Sunday.
Michael T. Dumas, 27, faces charges of first degree killings, first grade attacks and two bills of armed criminal act, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Independent police responded to a home in the 3800 block of S. Sterling Avenue just before 5:30 on Sunday morning on a reported double shoot, according to court record. They found both victims in the home.
Witnesses told police that Dumas had recently been in the murder victim, which has been identified as Sarah Simms.
The witness told the police Dumas was a suspect in a murder in 201
7 and was in a connection.
Simms, the victim of shooting Sunday, was a cooperative at the 2017 crime, according to the witness.
A witness described how Dumas shot the victim with a shotgun and injured another victim. The police found hail shells on stage. Duma’s vehicles were parked and shields similar to those found at the murder site were found near the vehicle.
Independent police reported that Dumas was taken into storage just before 4:30 am Sunday.
Prosecutors have requested a $ 750,000 cash bond.
