ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – The latest on British academic Matthew Hedges convicted of spying in the United Arab Emirates (all the time locally):
United Arab Emirates has forgiven and wants to free a British scholar sentenced to life in prison to spy after showing reporters a video of him claiming he was a captain of British intelligence.
The authorities announced Monday on Matthew Hedges at a speedy press conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE capital.
They said UAE’s president, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, makes complaints for hatches on Sunday with hundreds of others.
The authorities say that hedges will be allowed out of the country when procedures that secure his release are complete. 1
