Brian Acton, one of the co-founders of Whatsapp , wants you to get rid of the Facebook application of your mobile and leave the social network belonging to the company that a good day of the past 2014 turned him into a multimillionaire.
Acton has joined the criticism against the company of Mark Zuckerberg, after it came to light data theft of 50 million users by an analytics company. As expected, users and media did not take long to echo the situation and demonstrate their discontent, thus promoting the initiative #deletefacebook , which has already translated into a significant fall in the price of Facebook shares.
Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014, app and company founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, for a figure close to 16,000 million dollars. While Koum continues to lead the development of the application, Acton left the company earlier this year , for start a new foundation with Signal, the ultra-secure messaging app , claiming that what he was really passionate about were the non-profit activities related to technology and communications.
Now, through a twit , Acton joins the movement #deletefacebook , noting that “it’s time” . Unfortunately, the programmer and engineer did not want to make further statements.
It is time. #deletefacebook

Curiously, This is not the first time that a former employee or former Facebook executive throws stones against the roof of the company behind the social network . In 2017, as they point out in The Verge , one of the company’s leaders highlighted how the tools created by Facebook were “tearing apart the social fabric of how society works”.
