The border is flooded with fraudulent families. When will Congress do something about it?

W The chicken senate is taking an action to dismiss President Trump's national emergency letter for the southern border, they will do so against statistics that say otherwise. This week, Customs and Border Protection released data showing 76,103 anxiety at the southern border in February, the highest anxiety in one month since April 2008, and an increase of 97 percent since last year. More than 50,000 adults are currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement Custody, the highest ever. Kevin McAleenan, the Customs and Border Guard, who also served in the Obama administration, told reporters this week that "the system is far above capacity and remains at the break." While previous immigration disorders have been mainly single men, migrants now cross the border into family units. Of the 761 03 vapors in February, 40,325 were family units. The category is estimated at 2,000 percent since the low "Trump effect" in April 2017 through February 2019. The migratory nature of the migrants at the border means that more and more of them are turning to CBP and claiming asylum before they are brought into the interior of the country . As the New York Times reported earlier this week: "Families with children can be held in prison for a maximum of 20 days, during a discussed court of law, and because there are a limited number of detention centers that are certified To keep families, the practical effect is that most families are released into the country to be awaited by their…

03 vapors in February, 40,325 were family units. The category is estimated at 2,000 percent since the low “Trump effect” in April 2017 through February 2019. The migratory nature of the migrants at the border means that more and more of them are turning to CBP and claiming asylum before they are brought into the interior of the country .

As the New York Times reported earlier this week:

“Families with children can be held in prison for a maximum of 20 days, during a discussed court of law, and because there are a limited number of detention centers that are certified To keep families, the practical effect is that most families are released into the country to be awaited by their hearings in the Immigration Court. The courts are so unanswered that it can take months or years to decide on cases, people never appear to the court at all. “

The role our asylum laws play in encouraging this type of behavior is almost indisputable. Our current immigration laws allow a person here to illegally claim that they have a “credible fear” to be tortured or prosecuted if they return to their country. At that time, the immigrant cannot be deported until they are brought before an immigration judge, sometimes years later, for a hearing.

According to CBP, claims for credible fear increased by 121 percent during the last fiscal year. During the Obama administration, claims of “credible fear” are claimed more than in October 19459007 from 5,523 cases in 2009 to 81,864 in 2016.

There are only a few reasons for this. Either the world became 16 times more dangerous, citizenship and immigration services became more lenient when assessing “credible fear” or immigrants have become savvy in knowing what to say to meet the threshold.

The people in our salmon asylum legislation and the preferential treatment of family units give rise to fraud. As the New York Times reported in April last year, immigrants have “allowed themselves to fake with children who are not their own, and Border Patrol officials say the incidence of fraud is increasing.”

The number tracks this. Since April 2018, the borders have discovered nearly 2,400 “false families”, where immigrants claimed they were related when they were not or untruthfully asserted that they were younger than 18. The Home Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told for Congress her agency has discovered “” recycling rings “where innocent youths are used several times to help foreigners fraudulently gain access.”

Bizarrely, former lawyer Jeff Session’s attempt to deal with the problem by tightening up the definition of “credible fear” was blocked by House Republicans in 2018.

Through CBP’s own estimate, the limit in crisis. Congress members claiming something else deliberately ignores the facts and testimonies of men and women on the front line. Congress continues to struggle with executive appeals and the appropriateness of President Trump’s national emergency declaration while ignoring the central issue – our southern border is overwhelmed. When will Congress do something about it?
