Samsung’s new Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10E have many new advances, but the biggest change in their design compared to last year’s models is the new hole punch display. In the hole punch cut, which is round on S10 and S10E and oval on S10 Plus, it is the forward-facing camera system. It makes it possible for a larger screen, while cutting the hooked construction that is so controversial.
It also allows some fun wallpapers.
Since the announcement of the phones, there have been various wallpaper patterns moving around on the internet, turning the S10 hole punch into the R2D2’s single eye or S1
0 Plus in Johnny 5’s dual lens face. Other designs have the ball Jordan’s Jumpman logo strategically placed over the clip, or Futurama character Bender’s face that holds the space. Most are pretty funny.
It is surprising that there is now a subreddit for background images, as reported by Android Police . It’s a nice storage of wallpapers so you can find your favorites if you have a S10 in your hand. Perhaps Samsung will embrace these patterns and throw some licensing money into Disney and other companies to make official versions, but those community-created will work nicely in the meantime.
