OPP, Ala. ̵
1; A rural Alabama police department that used social media to bowl members of society to reject God is fired by a group opposing the blend of government and religious beliefs.
A statement posted on Facebook by the Up Police Department on Tuesday blames a nail in site murderers on the idea that young people have turned away from God and “embraced Satan.” The post followed two killing murders for so many days in Covington County, located on the Alabama-Florida line.
But the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation says the police in the city of 6,500 people incorrectly promote religion with social media message. The group says it is illegal for a state entity to support or criticize religious beliefs.
The police did not immediately leave a phone call on Thursday after commenting.
