There’s no denying how great sleep is, as it provides your bodies with energy and power while helping you complete your daily tasks, but, have you ever felt sleepy and tired during the afternoon? Well, first of all, that’s completely normal and the solution for that is not a new cup of coffee, it actually is taking a 30-minute nap.
This nap is also called the “power nap” and its duration is from 20 to 60 minutes, yet the optimal duration is – as the name indicates – 30 minutes, especially if you’re at work, so, if you’re a person who wakes up 6:30 am, your 30-minute nap should usually be between 1 and 3 pm.
This nap helps you preform your duties faster and better, as it clears your minds and makes you more creative, productive and capable of making the right choices, in addition to it enhancing your problem-solving skills and your communication with fellow workers and costumers and improving your memory, since it is a way to recharge your bodies and brains alike; a strong flow of energy that will keep you refreshed for the rest of the day while helping you fix sleep deprivation related issues.
It’s highly recommended that you don’t replace this nap with coffee, for despite caffeine being great to wake you up and keep you alert, it could weaken your memory, which in turn would cause you to make mistakes while working, making your work longer and harder.
You should also make sure that your nap doesn’t exceed 60 minutes in order not to have issues sleeping at night, it’s one of the things that make the 30-minute nap more appealing as you can add it to your day without disrupting your sleeping pattern.
One more thing to keep mind, make sure to make this nap a daily habit and nap in a dark warm place, to get better results with time.
