Back in 2015, Elon Musk was interviewed by Danish television, and when the topic of a plan to phase out The full EV tax credit in the country came up, Elon said it would probably damage the EV market. He said, “It’s a question of what message the government wants to send? Denmark has the choice of two futures: one is to send a very negative message to the world about electric vehicles, and the other is to send a very positive message. “
Well, the incentive did expire and, the market died. Call me a naive soda, but I put a reservation on a Tesla Model 3 anyway. That was 33 months ago … and today this happened:
Visit us at Tesla in Copenhagen, the first location in Denmark, showing Model 3.
From 6th of December, you can get priority access with your reservation number to sit in model 3 and experience the great glass roof, premium interior and 15 “touch screen. Product specialists from Tesla will be present to answer questions about your future order.
Read more about where Model 3 is shown below. The list is being updated continuously.
Well, how about that? When Sweden and Norway had the chance to experience the car recently, I wondered if Elon Musk had forgotten all about this little country of EV confusion. Apparently not. Thank you, Elon.
By the way, the recent trick up the government’s sleeve is to exempt tax on EVs up to DKK 400,000 in 2019 and 2020. Since this includes VAT and customs, it’s comparable to a US price of $ 40,000. I have no idea how many Danes have put down a reservation. Tesla Denmark will not comment on that.
