Syracuse, N.Y. – The 2018 Syracuse University football season still has two significant games left on schedule with Notre Dame and Boston College awaiting.
Syracuse has the chance to win their first 10-win season since 2001 and a shot at New Year’s Eve six bowls (like Peach or Fiesta) if they win these games.
But forget it for a minute.
Friday night at Carrier Dome was a time to reflect, as senior day is always, but it was not just another college class.
“They will be etched in stone forever,” Syracuse’s head coach Dino Babers said to follow his team 54-23 victory over Louisville. “Everyone always remembers the 2018 class and the season they went home unscathed.”
Friday’s game reminded of an oldest day of 1
998 when Donovan McNabb’s Orangemen shattered Miami 66-13.
That’s when a powerful power was humble and a record quarterback received a well-deserved homage from the believing Carrier Dome.
Eric Dungey led Orange to a convincing win over a once-powerful ACC power himself and experienced the achievements of a record career career alone at one time on his high lap around Dome after the match.
That was what Friday was about, especially with the outcome of this game against a pathetic excuse for Louisville, decided that Syracuse remembered to appear on time.
Babers held its highest quarterback in the game well into the fourth quarter, not only to create a scenario to be drawn to get a standing ovation, but also with a little revenge in mind from Louisville’s previous two victories over Orange ( total combined score: 118-38).
Now, orange must put the reflections behind them and focus on No. 3 Irish.
“It’s a game that gives us the opportunity to prove we belong.” Babers said, “To prove that we are better than people think we are. It does not mean we will prove it. It just means we have the opportunity. This football team was chosen to be dead last and now we are on We are now able to get a red circle if we had to play them 10 times. I do not know if we would beat them 10 times. “Play them once.”
