Heavy storms drenched east and west coast over the weekend, crushing rainfall in Washington, DC, and create office’s tower waves off the California coast.

Tweeting in All-Caps Saturday afternoon, National Weather Service issued a warning to surfers and gawkers in northern California: “BAG BACK FROM THE OCEE OR RISK FISH DEATH.”

Waves exceeding 50 feet in certain areas may continue until Monday in what the weather service is described as “the largest of the year våghändelse. “

Surfing was so dangerous that the World Surf League interrupted the events in its “big wave trip” at the legendary Mavericks Surf Area south of San Francisco, reported the NBC Bay Area.

“I think they were more worried about the wind and the height,” told Frank Quirarte, who ran the Mavericks rescue team, the station on Sunday. “Even the most experienced guys will tell you there’s something they do not want to do.”

Surf was the largest Quirarte who had seen Mavericks for a decade, reported the NBC Bay Area.

Forecast Rainfall From

Howard County Fire and EMS

Outside Washington, crews in Fairfax and Montgomery County rescued several passengers from stringed vehicles, officials said. In Howard County they rescued a lama from a flooded pasture near the swollen patuxent river.

The rescue came among record rains recorded in Baltimore, Washington and at Dulles Airport, said National Weather Service

Today’s precipitation a total more than doubled at Dulles, rising from an earlier record of about an inch in 2005 to almost 2, 5 inches on Saturday, said the weather service.

Rain showers for the area had only been broken one day before, when the weather service reported that 2018 was the wettest calendar year ever recorded at the Washington National Airport.
