Personal items belonging to Stephen Hawking, including his medals and one of his wheelchairs, will be sold at an online auction.
The British physicist most famous for his black hole research died in March 76 years.
The auction, hosted by Christies, is called On the Shoulders of Giants and has 22 items belonging to Hawking as well as manuscripts by Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin and Albert Einstein.
Also on sale comes personal copies of Hawking’s most important paper, such as his seminal 1
974’s Black Hole Explosions? a copy of his bestselling A short story of time, signed with a thumbnail; a jacket jacket; and the script for one of his appearances on The Simpsons.
Revenue from the sale of the wheelchair will go to the Stephen Hawking Foundation and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Hawking, who used a wheelchair for much of his life and an electronic voice synthesis, had a motor neuronal disease.

The jacket is expected to collect £ 100, while one of five renowned copies of Hawk’s doctoral dissertation is expected to amount to £ 150,000.
Lucy Hawking, his daughter, said, “We are very happy to help Christie s to help us with the important issue of managing our beloved paper archives and his unique and valuable collection of personal and professional belongings, chronic life and the work. “
She said she hoped to be able to donate the rest of her father’s scientific archives and goods to the country through acceptance in localization programs where articles of national, historical, artistic and scientific interest can be transferred to public ownership to resolve inheritance tax bills.
