MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Another food worker in Madison County has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A amid a statewide outbreak.
The Kentucky Artisan Center Cafe tells us an employee received confirmation that they have the virus last night.

“We take great pride in having a very clean and friendly and healthy atmosphere and location for our café,” said Gwen Heffner, Information Specialist for the Kentucky Artisan
“Everythings been disinfected and our cafe is following all those procedures, “said Heffner.
The center tells us they immediately contacted the Kentucky Department of Public Health and then began working with them to follow the CDC guidelines for disinfecting
“They gave us all kinds of procedures to follow which we have and the place is spic and span so we’ve followed all those procedures and feel confident,” said Heffner.
The employee has not returned back to work since they initially became sick earlier this week, the center also tells us they can not require employees to be vaccinated but six of their eight coffee workers have received the vaccine.
The pub has reopened.
Health officials in several counties are recommending everyone gets the vaccine.
