Lately, it seems that Facebook can not lift its head . They have been caught caught red handed , and finally, although quite late, is beginning to investigate the issue of how the application treated the data of users, who had access to them, and for what purposes they were used.
As we can read in Genbeta , the Spanish Agency for Data Protection is investigating Facebook for the misuse of data, following the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
As we told you, the data of hundreds of thousands of Spanish users could have been compromised , for the lack of security of the Facebook application. Up to 137,000 users, in particular, could be affected by the scandal , adding to the 80 million users affected throughout the world.
As we read in El País , in August 2017 a fine of 1.2 million euros was already imposed for breaches in the processing of the data , and in the month of October, two more sanctions, of 300,000 euros each, came for renege the Organic Law of Data Protection , both on Facebook and WhatsApp.
As usual, complaints, accusations and fines to Facebook , that finally, is going through one of its worst gusts, after a stock market crash, and see itself in the obligation to take measures. This is just the beginning. The hare has already jumped , and the investigations will begin to make clear what is happening with Facebook, and what it has been doing during these last years. We hope that, as they say, time puts everyone in their place, and that Zuckerber assumes responsibility for the alleged crimes he is committing with his application .
