A communication failure has delayed a jewelery at the International Space Station.
A spaceX capsule full of holiday goodies came within 32 meters (1
0 meters) of the groundbreaking complex Saturday. But problems with a communications satellite network forced a last minute delay.
For safety, the Mission Control ordered the Dragon Capsule to back up to the 100-meter (30-meter) point. The communication was temporarily released, between the space station and the ground control.
NASA says there is no reason to believe that the dragon still can not lie Saturday three days after starting from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The problem is with equipment in New Mexico that serves the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite system. NASA switches to another TDRS (T-driss) satellite to get around the problem.
