CHICAGO – New England Patriots Running Back Sony Michel was carted to the locker room after injuring his knee early in the second quarter of the team’s 38-31 victory at Chicago Bears.
After first announcing that Michel’s return was questionable, the team ruled out for the match during the third quarter.
Michel drove to the left when Bears defensive tackle Bilal Nichols twist him to the ground with violence, loosens the ball.
A first round draft selection of Georgia, selected No. 31 in all, Michel seemed to be in great pain and demanded help to get to the sidelines. After getting help to get to the medical tent along the side line, the club demanded that a wagon would bring Michel to the changing room.
Michel, who has damaged report as a limited participant in practice because of knee injury, had increased to a leading role in recent weeks with the spinal cord Rex Burkhead (brainwash, eligible to return) and Jeremy Hill (torn ACL out of the year ) on damaged reserve.
Michel had missed all four team’s previous year’s games and the regular season more open after having undergone a procedure for emptying fluid from his knee.
His absence Sunday left the patriots with only James White and Kenjon Barner to run back. If Michel’s absence is a long-term situation, it’s likely to force the patriots to investigate the possibility of signing another player in the position.
