It’s starting to look like Patriots running back Sony Michel will not miss a lot of time after suffering what appeared to be a serious knee injury on Sunday during New England’s 38-31 victory over Chicago.
According to NFL.com, Michel underwent an MRI on Monday and his injury is not considered to be serious. Although Michel could still miss some time, it is not expected to be much.
Ideally, Michel would not miss any time, but given what happened to the bear, the patriots would have a big break if Michel would only miss a week or two.
Damage to Michel Knee occurred in Chicago in the first quarter. After taking a handoff from Tom Brady, Michel was hit by Chicago Bilal Nichols and when the two players went down, Michel’s left knee was in a difficult position after his foot was determined under Nichol’s body.
When the damage occurred, it seemed to be serious. Michel was not only down for several minutes, but players from both teams came over to offer encouraging words.
When Michel finally could stand, he had to help out of the field of two coaches.
Michel rushed 22 yards on just four berries before leaving the game.
