The problem is traction on Apple’s support forum, where users report that they have contacted Apple about the camera for no use. Here’s what a user has to say about 2018 MacBook Air’s camera quality:

I’ve just bought the new MacBook Air, noting that the HD camera is so blurry. The image captured with this MacBook turns out to be worse than my iPhone 7 front camera.

Another user explains that the problem really seems to be caused by the sensor itself or the software, and that’s not a single problem. 19659004] I received the air for only one day in 2018 and the question was there the first time I tried the camera. What I can also confirm is that the lens is physically clear. The latest generation of MacBook Air also features a 720p FaceTime HD camera and users say the new MacBook Air camera is even worse than the old model. A bad user says they compared the camera to the new MacBook Air to the old model in an Apple Store:

I quit the Apple Store in Sydney and viewed the camera on the other MacBook Air 2018 devices on the display. They all had the same problem … I compared it to an old model of MacBook Air on the display that has exactly the same 720p camera and that was a big difference.

Of course, 720p is not the best video resolution in and of itself, but it is noteworthy that the 2018 MacBook Air camera is obviously a regression compared to the previous generation model. Apple has not commented on the problem and it is unclear if it comes.
