We continue to shed news of the WWDC 2018. A couple of days ago we saw how Siri is going to receive a face wash in its most sonorous section thanks to the incorporation of new voices, but we all knew that this would only be one of the novelties that the assistant of Apple would premiere in his next conference, since today we have known that Siri will answer your calls in certain occasions.
That’s right, a new patent filed by Apple has revealed that Siri could be more of a personal assistant than ever, and it would be one with initiative, since it could take care of our calls when we can not do it.
If you were thinking that your smartphone was going to talk to your partner while you kneel in the gym you can be tranquil @ s, not that your iPhone is going to become KITT and and go to console your best friend for his last break, in reality it will only help us to be a little more calm and focused on our activities.
This patent has been discovered in AppleInsider, which refers to an “intelligent digital assistant” (aka Siri) that would be able to “reject an incoming call”.
The patent does not consist only in rejecting a call, since Siri will gather information about our current circumstances to be able to send a personalized message to our interlocutor.
As an example, Siri could send a message saying that we can not answer because we are driving if the GPS is activated and it detects that we are moving at a certain speed, or if we are using CarPlay
Continuing with the previous example, Siri could also offer you several pre-written messages giving us a choice between a simple warning that you can not answer or tell the caller where we are going and when we will arrive.
According to the previous patent, Siri will answer your calls also by voice, not having a conversation as we have said, but you could send the previous message in the form of audio to our interlocutor, something that can be quite funny, especially the first times we are the recipients of that message.
Although for now this functionality seems somewhat limited and it does not seem that we are going to have “chatty” AIs in our smartphones, it is a step forward towards an increasingly powerful assistant.
However, Google already announced in the last I / o 2018 that your assistant would be able to make reservations of flight and hotel for us, so it’s only a matter of time before the linguistic capabilities of our smartphones are completely complete.
We will continue talking about all the news of the WWDC 2018 that will appear, although there is less to discover all that the people of Cupertino have prepared for you, including that expected iPhone SE 2018 .
