J.D.. McKissic is on track to make his 2018 debut when the Seahawks hosts the 49ers on Sunday. The running back was activated from the injured reserve list on Wednesday and added to the 53-man roster, meaning that if all goes well in practice this week, he should be on the field for Sunday’s game if he’s not one of the seven inactive players announced before kickoff.

McKissic, who was placed on injured reserve before the start of the season with a foot injury, returned to practice last week.

“JD’s coming back,” Seahawk coach Pete Carroll said. “We’re going to hopefully get him through the week and if everything works out right then we’d like to have him participate this week.”

McKissic appeared in 1

3 games last year, starting one and rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown on 46 carries. He also had 34 catches for 266 yards and two touchdowns. McKissic does not just add depth to running back, he has also played receiver, and last year was one of Seattle’s top performers on special teams. Reynolds was still in Seattle Wednesday, however, having been re-signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers. The Seahawks also brought back tight than Tyrone Swoopes, signing him to the practice squad Wednesday. The Seahawks had an open practice squad spot after releasing receiver Malachi Dupre on Tuesday.
