- Derrick Gilbert accused of becoming an airline employee, his son
- Gilbert was removed from his flight to be too drunk
Derrick Gilbert accused of blaming an airline employee and his own son.
The authorities said that the 51-year-old was removed from his flight to be too drunk. The flight attendant said that Gilbert was so drunk that he could not find his seat, had slammed speech, looked over his eyes and looked confused.
When Pinellas County deputies arrived, he stood at the terminal disaster calling at Allegiant Airline employees.
Witnesses argue that Gilbert drove an airline staff and seized his 1
8-year-old son at the neck when his teens tried to persuade his dad to leave peacefully.
The authorities said that Gilbert refused to leave the airport and told deputies that they could not arrest him because he was a police officer with the Sarasota Police Department.
Gilbert is now facing several charges including intrusion and batteries.
