Samsung Galaxy S10e
You definitely get the money with the Galaxy S10e. The phone shares the same primary rear and front cameras as S10 and S10 +, which means that it takes the same large pictures. It is also powered by Snapdragon 855, but if there is a factor that makes it clear, it is the small form factor.
$ 750 on Samsung
- Exquisite design
- Class leading hardware
- Outdoor cameras
- IP68 dust and water resistance
- Small form factor
OnePlus has established itself as a host leader and even at $ 550 OnePlus 6T offers great value for the money. As mentioned, you lack water resistance, a headphone jack and wireless charging. Then it’s the camera – for a $ 550 phone, it’s strictly average.
$ 550 at OnePlus
- Pure software
- Fast updates
- Excellent performance
- No 3.5mm jack
- Average camera
- No water resistance
- No wireless charge
With the Galaxy S10 series, Samsung has introduced a cheap alternative in the form of Galaxy S10e sold at $ 750. It’s $ 150 less than the starting price of S10, and you get the same big hardware though with some neglect. It’s time to find out if it can steal market share away from similar OnePlus.
Galaxy S10e has more features than you will stop using
Samsung knows clearly how to make a solid flagship, but over the past two years we have seen many affordable flagships offering high quality hardware for several hundred dollars less. OnePlus dominates this category in particular, and OnePlus 6T of $ 550 is still a great value for the hardware being offered.
The small size makes the Galaxy S10e the perfect phone for consistent use.
Samsung takes on this segment is the Galaxy S10e. The phone costs $ 200 more than 6T, but even at first glance it is easy to see that it is loaded with features. But what makes the Galaxy S10e really stand out is its design size – with a 5.8-inch screen and a height of 142.2mm, it is perfect for consistent use.
The industry has switched to higher screens in recent years, but the S10e with its compact form factor is the perfect device if you are looking for a smaller phone with high quality hardware. You also do not have any core functions from S10 or S10 +: S10e has the same IP68 dust and water resistance, Samsung Pay, fast wireless charging, 3.5 mm jack and a microSD card slot.
Samsung’s flagship has always stood out for the vast number of features they offer, and the S10e definitely delivers on that front. There is no area where the device is missing, and when you compare it next to 6T, you just see how rich it is. 6T lacks the headphone jack and the MicroSD slot, and you also lose the water resistance. There is no wireless charge, and when you are a factor in all omissions it is easier to understand why the unit costs $ 200 less.
Premium Premium gives you a much better camera
If nothing else, get the Galaxy S10e for its amazing camera. Samsung has done a good job of keeping most of the functions from S10 and S10 +, with S10e with the same primary cameras in front and back.
Galaxy S10e blows 6T out of the water in terms of camera quality.
That means you will get the same big pictures as you would on the more expensive flagships, and while the S10e lacks the zoom lens, the same wide-angle shooter has the back. In my opinion, you will benefit much more from it anyway.
One of the main problems with OnePlus phones is the camera quality. 6T has the same sensor configuration as its predecessor, and while you get decent images in daylight, the quality drops considerably in low light scenarios.
A special competition
Galaxy S10e is powered by Qualcomm’s latest 7nm Snapdragon 855 platform. It is also the first phone in the world to have a Wi-Fi axemodem. You get 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage as standard, and the 3100 mAh battery is suitable for the whole day. Interestingly, S10e is the first Samsung flagship in a few years to get a completely flat screen.
Both phones have exquisite hardware – but the S10e has the very latest specifications.
So if you are not a fan of the curved screens of S10 and S10 +, S10e is a good option. The display is equally large, although the resolution is slightly lower at 2280×1080. Considering that the unit is designed for unified use, there is a standard fingerprint sensor on the side, just above the power switch.
OnePlus 6T is no slash and last year’s Snapdragon 845 platform still has a lot of shallows. The 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED screen may not be as vibrant as what Samsung offers, but it is decent enough for the price tag. You also get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as standard, and the 3700 mAh battery can easily deliver a day’s value.

OxygenOS is the best third party skin around
If OnePlus 6T comes into its own, the software is. OxygenOS is the best third-party track around and the clean interface combined with the powerful hardware makes 6T one of the fastest phones on the market today.
OxygenOS takes a leading lead in software.
OnePlus has also shown in 2018 that it is better to deliver software updates on time. 6T brought Pie out of the box and has consistently raised security updates and bug fixes in the last five months.
Samsung has adapted many customizations with One UI, with the interface resembling Google’s aesthetics in many ways, but it is still not as minimal as OxygenOS. Software updates continue to be a problem for Samsung, and this is unlikely to change this year.
If you prefer a cleaner interface with faster updates, 6T is the obvious choice.
Everything comes down to value
Galaxy S10e and OnePlus 6T may not be in the same category, but they share similar elements. For Samsung, the fact that it can deliver most features like S10 and S10 + on the prize pool is $ 750, suggesting how serious it is to diversify its flagships.
If you’re looking for a compact phone with latest hardware and amazing cameras, the S10e is definitely worth its price. Instead, if you’re looking to save some money and don’t care about all the features offered by S102e, 6T is still a great choice in 2019.
Samsung Galaxy S10e
The best compact phone right now
Samsung’s affordable flagship is a few hundred dollars more than the competition, but the Galaxy S10e is well worth it. Especially when you think you get the same primary cameras as the S10 / S10 +, Snapdragon 855 chipset, identical design, all built into a compact form factor.
Excellent performance supported by fast updates
OnePlus 6T does a great job of combining high-quality hardware with clean software, making it one of the fastest phones around. But the camera is not as good as the S10e, and it is missing in other areas. If you need the extra features, you need to charge $ 200 more for the S10e.
