The Monarch and Duke of Edinburgh are said to have feared their oldest son Charles was not suitable for the throne.
According to royal sources, the queen and her husband Charles considered a “loose cannon”. And the tensions between Charles and his parents were driven by Jonathan Dimbleby’s explosive biography of the Prince, released in 1994 for the 25th anniversary of his investiture as Prince of Wales.
The Bombshell book argued that Charles and his parents had a difficult relationship, with the queen and Philip meant that he was rude to the prince as a child.
But relations between Charles, Queen and Philip are believed to have improved over the years.
The trio always shows a united front when they went out together in general.
And Charles grew up in a time when many traditional parents had a more distant relationship with their children.
Another source near the kings acknowledged that Charles and Philip still do not always look eye-to-eye.
The source told Daily Mail: “Of course, they love each other.”
“They always kiss each other when they meet, but sometimes these discussions can look quite heated, but actually they are just passionate people ̵
1; passionate about what they believe in. It does not make them enemies, it just means they do not agree . ”
The statements about the Queen and Philip are not the first time Charles’s appropriateness as a monarch has been questioned.
President Diana spoke in 1995 of doubt that Charles would be king in her devastating Panorama interview after the couple was separated in 1992.
Asked by Martin Bashir interviewer if Charles would ever be king, Diana said: “I do not think that any of us know the answer to it. “
“And obviously, it’s a question in everyone’s head. But who knows who knows what the fate will produce, who knows what circumstances will provoke?”
The press about Charles would like to take up the role, Diana questioned if Charles could “adapt” to “best job”. Diana said, “There was always conflict with him when we discussed it, and I understood that conflict, as it is a very demanding role as Prince of Wales, but it is an equally demanding role as King. “And being a prince of Wales produces more freedom now, and being a king would be a little suffocating.”
“And, as I know the character, I would think that the best job, as I call it, would give enormous restrictions on him, and I do not know if he could adapt to it. “
