DUBAI (Reuters) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday that the United States was isolated from its traditional allies in the confrontation with Iran, and that Europe also existed with Tehran against the resumption of US sanctions.
“It does not happen often when the US takes a decision and its traditional allies abandon it,” Rouhani told Parliament in a speech that was run on state television.
Washington reintroduced sanctions on Iran’s foreign exchange, metals and automobile sectors in August following its withdrawal from a multinational 2015 agreement which repealed sanctions as opposed to Iran’s nuclear programs.
The European countries have criticized the United States recall from Acco rd and have put together a package of economic measures to offset the effects of US pressure on the Tehran economy.
U.S. Hills on Iran’s major oil exports will come into force on 4 November.
