Jaguar's off season transition at quarterback also continued Thursday with Cody Kessler – a starting quarterback in four games last season – released on the day the team signed 21 unrafted free agents. Kessler, which was acquired in a 2018 off-season deal with Cleveland Browns for what became a seventh-round selection in 2019 NFL Draft, began weeks 13-16 last season. His triggering means that both the Jaguar's starting quarter from last season is no longer with the team. The Jaguar released a long time starting Blake Bortles in mid-March. Kessler's release leaves four quarterbacks on roster: projected starter Nick Foles, 201 9 sixth-row selection Gardner Minshew, 2018 sixth-round election Tanner Lee and 2019 free agent acquisition Alex McGough.
