Pro-wrestling fans usually plot wraths but those present at “Monday Night Raw “, not to mention millions of viewers at home, got a fantastic dose of reality. Speaking from the middle of the ring, the university champion Roman Reigns announced that he trampled away from WWE to continue his fight with leukemia.
The 33-year-old wrestler began his remark by telling the audience at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI that he felt he owed “all an excuse.” He pointed to repeated promises by his fans that he would be “consistent” and “a workhorse,” says Reigns. “It’s all lies.”
“It’s a lie, because reality is, my real name is Joe, and I’ve been living with leukemia for 11 years,” he said. “And unfortunately it’s back.”
Governments, whose birth name is Leati Joseph “Joe” Anoa, said that his illness meant he could not fulfill his role as WWE champion and that he would have to abstain from his belt. He added that he believed he would overcome the situation because of how he, when diagnosed at the age of 22, was able to “put it in forgiveness” very quickly. “
“Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, and right now it’s the best thing I have to do to go home, focusing on my family and my health,” says Reigns. “But I want to make one thing clear: it’s not on somehow a retirement pension. “Because, once I’m ready to whip up leukemia s [butt] again, come back home.”
Regigns has not been the most popular WWE star, partly because many fans have thought that his appearance of appearance was driven by them by the company. But his comments got Monday’s exhaustion of supportive chants, while other wrestlers felt their feelings known online.
A former college football player at Georgia Tech, Reigns is a Samoan legacy on the side of his father who was a professional wrestler self. He also has several other close relatives who are or were in the industry, and his family tree contains The Usos and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
After attempting some NFL teams, Reigns spent the 2008 season with Edmonton Eskimos by the Canadian football team. He then moved into professional wrestling, snapped fast with WWE and after spitting in smaller circles, he began to become a well-known number of fans nationwide in 2012.
Governments were set to put his universal belt on the line in a Triple Threat match against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman at WWE’s controversial Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on November 2. Now, in Reign’s absence, the two stars will have a one-on-one showdown for the title.
The government produced the bowl Monday when he told the audience: “I’ll hit this and I’ll be back so you’ll see me very soon.” He thanked the fans to help him make his “dreams come true” and to react so strongly to his rule of law, either positive or negative as they chanted back, “Thank you Roman! Thank you, Roman!”
The government then put his belt in the ring and went back to the top of the ramp entrance, slapping his hands on fans along the way he was met by his long partners in The Shield, Dean Ambrose and a visibly upset Seth Rollins, and they shared an emotional hug before they disappeared backstage.
