The government condemned WWE Universe last Monday night on RAW by revealing that he was initially diagnosed with the terrible disease 11 years ago and after taking it quickly in remission, the cancer vaccine recently returned.
The Big Dog then left UniversalChampionship, as he worked so hard to win from Brock Lesnar and went home to fight the disease.
According to Wrestling Inc the publisher and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer claims McMahon was just one of some people who knew the condition of the former Universal Champion.
Meltzer also stated that the chairman got the news last Thursday before Reigns was taken away from the weekend’s live event.
Only McMahon, WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H, TV producer Kevin Dunn, Mark Carrano in talks and writers Dave Kapoor and Ed Koskey were aware of the situation before the four-hour e-world champion’s announcement.
The ex-WWE champion was in a bus all day before the show, following his request, and his Shield teammates Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose found out an hour before the event that he would release the title but did not know why.
RAW-leading advertiser Michael Cole was also aware that the former NXT star would abandon the band but did not know about its illness.
The WWE dressing room and fans were shocked when they finally heard the news, but Reigns assured them that he did not retire from professional wrestling because he plans to come back better than ever.
The 33 year old grap teacher said, “The reality is my real name is Joe [Anoaʻi] and I had been living with leukemia for 1
1 years … and unfortunately it’s back.”
“And because leukemia is back, I do not fulfill my role. I can not be the battle champion and I have to abstain from the general championship.
“I will not lie, I take every prayer you can send my way, but I’m not looking for sympathy.”
“I’m not looking for you to feel bad because I have faith.”
” When I was 22, I was diagnosed with this and very quickly I could say it But I will not lie, that was the hardest life in my life.
“I had no job, I had no money, I had no home and I had a baby on the road.”
“But do you know who gave me a chance? The team that gave me a chance was WWE.
“When I’m done kik leukemi is a ** again, I’ll be back home.”
“I want to show my family, my friends, my children and my wife that when life hits a curveball on me , I’m the kind of man who will stand in that dirt box, I’ll crowd the plate, I’ll choke and I’ll swing for the fence every time! “
