Researchers may have finally discovered a superplane like exoplanet just six light years away from us after trying to prove their existence for decades.

While we are aware that there is an endless amount of planets and stars beyond our own atmosphere, it is still a difficult concept to get around. Plus, despite the amount of out there to find, we have currently discovered very little. We continue to discover more about the planets in our own solar system, all the more.

The only thing scientists die to discover is the proof that we are not alone in the universe. Many of us may want to leave that stone, but for the most part we want to know, right? It seems unlikely that there is no or no one out there. In fact, it is almost arrogant to assume that the Earth is the only planet in the entire universe that can support the intelligent life.

What we’ve known for a while is that there is a star, other than the sun, not too far from the earth. It’s called Barnard’s Star. Barnard Star is six light years away and is much smaller and older than our own sun. It’s in its red dwarf stage, it does not glow almost as light and is only a sixth size. What researchers have tried to prove for decades is that there is a earthy planet that circles Barnard’s Star.

Ignasi Ribas and his team at the Spanish Institute de Ciències de Espai are now 99% sure that the planet is in accordance with National Geographic . They have supervised Barnard’s Star and have confirmed a periodic jiggle. Jiggle means that a nearby plane gravity appears on the star, and it seems to occur every 233 days. Other researchers are not convinced and believe that the jiggel can be caused by stars or active regions.

Speculation about what the planet’s surface and climate can be is not promising. It is predicted that the temperature of the theoretical exoplanet will be approximately -270 degrees, so as not to support life as we know it. So while the potential discovery is an exciting man, although the planet would share many similarities with the earth, there is very little chance that some of us could jump the ship and start new life there in the future.
