GameSpot – 9/10 “While Red Dead Redemption mostly focused on John Marston’s story, Red Dead 2 is about the entire Van der Linde gang – as a society, as an idea, and as the shield of the wild west. is about Arthur, but as the lens through which you look at the gang, his very personal, very moving story is a bigger story. Some frustrating systems and a predictable mission structure ends earning that story well, but it takes patience to come through them and understand why. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it’s also an emotional, thought-provoking story in itself, and it’s a world that’s hard to leave when it is ready. ” – Kallie Plagge [Full review]
“Red Dead Redemption 2 has undoubtedly raised the bar for storytelling open-world games and is likely to have a lasting impact on how they are created in the future. It envelopes the envelope of what we understand is possible in a video game. It seems that every time we get something new from Rockstar, things change inevitably. With Red Dead 2, it seems that this shift will be defined by an experience that works hard to convince the player they are not necessarily inside a video game, or look for a set of rules that a specific genre dictates. “- Jeff Bakalar [Full review]
” Is Red Dead Redemption 2 better than the first game? Very so. Is Red Dead Redemption 2 perfect? No. Rockstar Games has created this awesome, beautiful world with an attention to detail that is amazing. There is a high level of crafts here, but that’s also why some of these little irritations or more dumb systems stand out more. Despite the small problems, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game that should keep the players happy for another eight years. “- Mike Williams [Full review]
” Is this Rockstar’s biggest game, a new masterpiece besides the original? There are too many neglects and one too many shortcomings in their heart, to leave me completely convinced. Is this the richest and most beautiful open world? Of that there is not a single doubt. “- Martin Robinson [Full review]
” Red Dead Redemption 2 stands shoulder to shoulder with Grand Theft Auto V as one of the biggest games in modern times. It’s a beautiful depiction of an ugly period, patient, polished and very fun to play, and it’s combined with Rockstar’s best story to date. Even after finishing the long story, I can not wait to go back and play more. of rare quality, a carefully polished open world ode to the outlaw era. Looking for one of this generation’s very best single-player action experiences? Here’s your huckleberry. “- Luke Reilly [Full review]
” How good is Red Dead Redemption 2? In recent years, I have argued for the only games that deserve to be considered in the same way. Ultra Elite levels are GTA V, Metal Gear Solid V and The Witcher III. This is a classy 5/5 classic combining brilliant writing – Rockstar’s Houser Brothers delivers another influential, scythe-sharp script – amazing tech and one of the most boldly structured plots to ever reach a triple-A- title. The story is so well-told, you will feel emotionally investing more on a horse under a crucial stage than you did for Kratos in this year’s wartime war wake up. If you only buy a game this year, it must definitely be this wonderful Wild West quest. “- David Meikleham [Full review]
” There is no doubt that this is a landmark game. It’s a new high tide for lively video game worlds, surely, but the world is also home to a story of the wild west that is unexpectedly gloomy and not afraid to take its time. With very few exceptions, the many stories that Rockstar’s writer has said about this group of addicts land the perfect, fun twists of individual missions and chapters that lead to an exciting, sophisticated and absorbing story – and the stories you discover yourself Within its world is no less convincing. About 2000 people worked very hard (probably too hard, in some cases) to make this game possible. Each of them should be proud of their contribution. “- Keza MacDonald [Full review]
” Rockstar Games has surpassed Red Dead Redemption II. The up-close image of the outlaw-van der Linde gängets unraveling is a compelling comrade story that blends smoothly with the original game and the depth and breadth of the open world is a technical triumph that every player should experience. “- Matt Bertz [Full review]
