If you will survive in Red Dead Redemption 2’s world, you will need money. Previously, we have highlighted several ways to make money relatively quickly by working with many of the core system and mechanics of the game, but there is a secret method that can make a significant bump to your wallet without much effort.
The method in question is none other than the toxic traces treasure map side mission, which at the end rewards you with four gold bars that amount to about $ 2000 when sold. When exploring, you often find treasure maps that guide you to all valuable things, but nobody is as lucrative as maps of toxic traces that you can complete early. Of course, if you’re more cheating on the system, try this newly discovered glitch that can earn you with 30 gold bars. But we all know it’s not that much fun!
Below are instructions that guide you to all tax charts in the side body for toxic traces. We have also included screenshots to help you on your trip. It is worth noting that you can not only go to the final place to get money on the gold. You must find each individual tax card first before the gold appears in its associated location.
If this guide was helpful to you, please check our features and mark all tips you should know before you play and things that the game does not tell you. We also have guides on more specific topics, such as top horse races and fishing. If you want some extra fun instead, make sure you read our feature that describes the game cheat codes.
The first map is located on Cairn Lake, located north of the valentine in the mountains. It’s snowy up there, so be sure to take a thick jacket with you before you go up in the direction. If you have triggered “The Noblest of Men, and a Woman” Stranger Mission, you will notice that this is the exact location of legendary gunman Flaco Hernandez.
When you made it to Cairn Lake, you should find a small abandoned cabin – the one in which Hernandez lives. Approach the bed to the right and pick up the lock box below the one that holds the first tax card along with some extra valuables. ” data-full-srcset=”https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1552/15524586/3457342-6.png 1920w, https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1552/15524586/3457342-6.png 1280w, https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_medium/1552/15524586/3457342-6.png 480w”/>
Treasure Map 2: Face Rock and a viewing tree Trunk
The second treasure map has you looking for a worm-like field formation. Once again, an odds that you are likely to have missed if you have not spent significant time listing all the curiosities out in the world. This bizarre pile is located southeast of Van Horn, a reasonable distance south of “R” in “New Hanover” on the map.
As a tax chart indicates, you will want to search for a pile of rocks near the stormy pile. It’s quite easy to discover, as it’s literally just a lumpy mountain mound with a hole in the middle. Search the hole to find the final tax card. Forward to the treasure!
The final tax map points to a waterfall and what appears to be a path in a cave. You will find this waterfall at Elysian Pond, located directly northeast of “E” in “Hannover” on the map. When you arrive, go through the waterfall to discover the entrance to a hidden cave.
It’s dark in the cave, so replace your lantern. Continue through the cave until you find a section on the track where you can fall down. As you land, continue through the creep room to the right, leading you to the fork in the image shown on the map. Take the right path, but before you hug, it is advisable to find a temporary camp with a locker that contains a large jewelry box. ” src=”data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==” sizes=”(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px” data-width=”1280″ class=”js-lazy-load-image” data-src=”https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1552/15524586/3457354-15.png” data-srcset=”https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1552/15524586/3457354-15.png 1918w, https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1552/15524586/3457354-15.png 1280w, https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_medium/1552/15524586/3457354-15.png 480w”/>
Continue the way forward until you reach it which seems to be a pit in some judgment. Instead of falling to your death, keep left until you reach another edge. If you look closely, your lantern will illuminate a solid ground below what you can land on. But take a few steps back; You will want a leaping start to make this jump. If you are acrobatics enough, go down the slope to the left. You slide down into some water; Once you’ve got your balance, look to the left of a rock platform to climb up. Search in this area and you will be rewarded with four bars in gold.
If this is the first time you have received gold, you know that you can sell them to the fence for direct profit. If you feel particularly generous you can donate it directly to your camp.
