PS4 user requirements Sony removed its digital games to use hat speech

An anonymous PlayStation 4 gamer claims Sony Interactive Entertainment has temporarily suspended them from PlayStation Network and revoked their access to their digital games to use hat speeches that included racial and homophobic sips. According to the anonymous and openly racist PS4 user, Sony sent them an email to let them know that they were given a weekly protection to break PlayStation's networking conditions. More specifically, the e-mail indicates that the user violates the service's policy on hate speech, which prohibits racism, sexism, xenophobia or hatred of religious beliefs, cultural identity, gender identity or sexual orientation. "My account was temporarily prohibited for one week to call people for &#821 2;- and n —–," reads an email sent from the user to One Angry Gamer. "This includes temporarily revoking the licenses for all digital downloads in my library, but a game on a disc still works fine. You may not agree with my actions because I know you are not a racist, but I am and I do not care. [It’s] fun to talk online and most are racist anyway, plus these terms are thrown like hot cookies, so who gives a s. t. More specifically, the e-mail indicates that the user violates the service’s policy on hate speech, which prohibits racism, sexism, xenophobia or hatred of religious beliefs, cultural identity, gender identity or sexual orientation.

“My account was temporarily prohibited for one week to call people for &#821

2;- and n —–,” reads an email sent from the user to One Angry Gamer. “This includes temporarily revoking the licenses for all digital downloads in my library, but a game on a disc still works fine. You may not agree with my actions because I know you are not a racist, but I am and I do not care. [It’s] fun to talk online and most are racist anyway, plus these terms are thrown like hot cookies, so who gives a s. t. As I know, you know that speech limitations are a slope and tend to go beyond the first reasons for their installment. ”

The user also shared the e-mail sent by Sony Interactive Entertainment with the socket.

“This message is to inform you that your account has been violated by the PlayStation Network Terms of Service” reads the opening of the email.

The e-mail then gives the reason why the account was banned, where the infringement occurred and reveals that the ban will be for seven days.

“The Terms of Service have been introduced to maintain PlayStation Network status as the world’s best online gaming service and for all members of the PlayStation community to fully enjoy their online experience,” the email adds.

Over on the PlayStation’s official Consumer Code of Conduct Playback Code, Sony notes that suspensions mean users will be restricted from accessing PlayStation Network features – including digital games – while bans will cause users to lose access to said functions permanently. The page also shows what is unacceptable behavior.

In the above-mentioned email to One Angry Gamer, the anonymous PS4 note notes that they did not only have problems for their repulsive language, but for talking about topics that forced migration and direction by other users
