The Erie County Department of Health is investigating possible measles exposure at Williamsville South High School, according to a statement released on Monday evening by a spokesman for the county governor Mark C. Poloncarz.
Peter Anderson said that it is not currently confirmed at school, but the Ministry of Health is taking precautionary measures in agreement with school officials to inform the faculty and parents.
This is a separate case from that announced on December 12th by health commissioner Dr Gale Burstein in which an Eastern European immigrant infected with measles was reported to have visited eight public places locally between 4 December and 11 December.
Anderson said the health commissioner was informed about the latest possible measles exposure and will follow up. 1
