BALTIMORE (AP) – The Baltimore police say that a woman who gave money out of her car window to what looked like a needy young mom was then pushed by a man trying to steal his wallet.
In a statement, the 52-year-old police said that Jacquelyn Smith in Harford County traveled in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Saturday as she rolled down the window to give money to a woman wearing a baby or something that was made to look like a baby.
Police said the woman had a cardboard sign saying, “Please help me feed my baby.”
Police said a man approached the vehicle to thank Smith for giving money, but then tried to steal Smith’s wallet. A battle followed and the man stabbed Smith and fled on foot with the woman who contained the sign.
