Soon you will be able to get much more out of Pokémon Go without removing your phone. Developer Niantic adds a new feature called “Adventure Sync”, which records your steps in the background. It rolls out to all users “soon.” Previously, one of the biggest annoyances with Pokémon Go was that your walking data – which is especially important for hatching eggs – was followed first when the phone was awake. Today’s update should relieve it of players stuck with the game. The feature will also be synced in the background with HealthKit on iOS and Android’s Google Fit.
At the end of last year, Niantic revealed that it moved all its site-based AR games ̵
1; including Pokémon Go Ingress, and a forthcoming Harry Potter game – to the same platform so that everyone can use the same features. Adventure synchronization seems to be one of the first major features to take advantage of this. Niantic says that the feature is “first implemented in Pokémon Go “, but it adds that “we are looking forward to finding new and exciting ways to implement it in our other games in the future.” Despite launching over two years ago, Pokémon Go still constantly receives major updates. Lastly, Niantic began rolling out fourth generation monsters in the game, and next month it will be highly integrated in Pokémon: Let’s Go on Nintendo Switch.
