It was of course Robert A. Heinlein who wrote, “If a grasshopper tries to fight a lawn mower you can admire his courage, but not his judgment.”
Heinlein, a science fiction writer who died in 1988, knows nothing about Buffalo Bill’s current state or their fans’ proclivity to lobbing rubber penis on the field during NFL games.
But it would probably not have taken him a long time to identify the bill of the bill as the grasshopper on Monday evening.
Although the insurance defense enabled them to hang in the third quarter on the scoreboard, one could not highlight a scenario where the Derek Anderson rupture would jump into the end zone a couple [1

They are the worst crime in the NFL right now and their offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll showed his appreciation for reality right out of the gates, rushing out of the Wildcat form ations and trying a flea flicker on Bill’s first run of the game.
It oozed desperation but do you know what? Who cares? Daboll had a grip on the reality of being corrected his team to make a total of 31 points in his previous four games was not a terrible coincidence. The bills really do not have much they can do in crimes. Do not know with Anderson who runs things.
How much does the performance of patriots defend in their 25-6 win? Not a little.
Defensively, the patriots did exactly what they were supposed to do. Choke the Bills Offensive Out. They did. Buffalo went 4th in 14 on third down and managed 46 yards on the field of 19 berries. And 17 of those yards came on Bill’s first unit.
Five units ended with punts, one ended with a strip bag by Kyle Van Noy and the other ended with a pick-six play-off of Devin McCourty. OTHER HARD SANDS
There is no threat that the patriots suspect what they did for the bills as a precursor of how things will go with Aaron Rodgers and Packers this Sunday. But it was a satisfying achievement for a group that gave 1,197 meters and 92 points in the last 10 quarters.
The best defensive player on Monday night was Trey Flowers who had sex tackles, two tackles for loss and a pass resolution. Behind him was Van Noy who had two bags and made eight tackles.
The patriots were not challenged as they were when Kansas City came to Foxboro, but – washed like Anderson could be – he was a better thrower than Mitch Trubisky last week.
None of the above (and it includes Patrick Mahomes) presents something close to what the patriots will see on Sunday night. Rodgers can run if he wants (and he will do better than Trubisky did). He can throw it as hard and exactly as Mahomes does. And he has much better guys to throw to than Anderson did on Monday night.
Buffalo is a bad offensive team. The 25-6 final may look better (by any means) than the 37-5 loss for Colts last week, but it was still an exercise in need for those in custody.
This was a good road station for the patriots, a defensive control, a chance for them to get some things right without the threat of immediate points when they did wrong.
They needed to subdue a crime and leave it in pieces. The patriots were the lawnmower. The banners were the grasshopper.
